When it comes to adorably cute games that have a truly impressive addictive quality, Bubble Birds should be at the top of the list. This basic puzzle game has been out for a while, but it is just now getting some attention as a regular download. Is this a game that is going to appeal to you, and is it one that you should pick up?

What Is It?

Bubble Birds is a puzzle game that is easy to learn. Across the top of the screen are bubble birds of various colors in several rows. At the bottom-center of the screen is a shooter that is regularly loaded up with more bubble birds. You control the shooter and you can shoot birds that will stick to the birds at the top of the screen. When you line up three birds in a row, they will pop and disappear. The goal of the game is to make sure that all of the birds at the top of the screen disappear. As you play, you should watch out for a bomb bird that can make a significant portion of the screen explode.

Replayability

The thing to remember about Bubble Birds is that it will never be other than exactly what it is. The levels get more challenging, and you have less time and you may have to think more strategically, but at the end of the day, it is exactly the same game. Most people seem to go one of two ways about it. Some people love the predictability and the escalation, while some people find it fairly dull. It is a great game to play when you've got a few minutes to kill and when you don't really care about going through to the end.

Length of Levels

One thing that must be noted is that the levels take quite a while to complete. It definitely feels like it takes longer to complete a level of Bubble Birds than it does to complete a similar level on a similar game. The length of play does feel a little awkward, especially as you get deeper into the game. When playing, a single level can take longer than you think it will, and it might take away from some of the charm of the game.

Who Will Like It?

People who love fairly simple, fairly addictive games will likely love this one. There is a little strategy involved and there is enough to keep you occupied, but this is not a terribly invested game. This is a game to play while you are waiting on a friend or when you are waiting for your code to compile.

Should I Get It?

Bubble Birds is definitely fun, and there is something very enchanting about watching the birds pop, but there are definitely other games that do the same thing and do not have the length issues.
